- Our Student Research Day is scheduled for October 4, 2012.
- All Residents, Postdoctoral & Clinical Fellows and Grad Students are invited to give an oral presentation OR a poster presentation.
- MLS Students, Summer Students and External Students (students from other departments, but with supervisors in Lab Medicine & Pathology) are invited to give a poster presentation.
- All presentations (oral & poster) are entered for the following research prizes:
Oral Presentations:
- Best oral presentation by Resident - $300
- Best oral presentation by Postdoctoral / Clinical Fellow - $300
- Best oral presentation by Masters Student - $300
- Best oral presentation by PhD Student - $300
Poster Presentations:
- Best poster by Resident - $300
- Best poster by Postdoctoral / Clinical Fellow - $300
- Best poster by MSc - $300
- Best poster by PhD - $300
- Best poster by MLS Student or Summer Student - $300
All students interested in participating in either the Oral Presentations or the Poster Presentations are required to submit the Registration Form (click here) and their Abstract.
There is no limit to the number of Poster Presentations however due to time constraints, the Oral Presentations will be limited to 18. Therefore abstracts submitted for the Oral Presentations will be reviewed by the Research Day Committee and 18 students will be selected to give a 10 minute presentation followed by a 3 minute question period.
Notification of selected Oral Presentations will be sent out by August 30th. All other entries will be invited to enter the Poster Presentations.
Abstracts (oral and/or poster) should have a maximum of 300 words and the following structure. It can include one figure and / or one table. NO revisions will be allowed.

The deadline for submitting the Registration Form and Abstract is Thursday, August 16, 2012. Please email to Pauline Kotowich (kotowich@ualberta.ca).
In the interest of fairness to all applicants the deadline will be strictly adhered to. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED, so please mark your calendars. There will be no second reminders sent out! (Note that your supervisor can send in your information if necessary)
