There are many awards available to MLS students in open competition with the remainder of the University. Students are directed to the awards section of the University calendar for a complete listing. The two most prestigious of these, the Peter Lougheed Scholarship and the Louise McKinney Post-Secondary Scholarship, are available to all University of Alberta undergraduate students. The others given are available exclusively to MLS students. The University of Alberta calendar also lists Awards.

Robert Stinson Bursaries in Medical Laboratory Science
VALUE: Variable (minimum value $500, maximum value $1500 each)
NUMBER: Variable
CONDITIONS: To be awarded annually to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in the Division of Medical Laboratory Science. Recipients will be selected on the basis of a demonstrated financial need.

Louise McKinney Post-Secondary Scholarship
Created by the Alberta Scholarship Programs to recognize and reward students for their academic achievements and encourage them to continue in their undergraduate program of study. This scholarship recognizes University of Alberta students who are Alberta residents (as defined by Alberta Scholarship Programs), in approximately the top 1.5 to 2% of their class.

HB Collier Memorial Gold Medal
This award was endowed by the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Dr. H. Bruce Collier, by Medical Laboratory Science Alumni, and by the Faculty of Medicine. Bruce had a long and successful tenure at the University of Alberta and taught clinical biochemistry in the Medical Laboratory Science program from its inception to 1971.
