Dr. Jonathan Martin, received the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher 2014 award.  Three thousand researchers in the world, and <100 in Canada, earned this distinction in 2014 by authoring the greatest number of reports officially designated by Essential Science IndicatorsSM as Highly Cited Papers - ranking among the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication.   More ...
 
Ms. Danielle Lee, Convenant Healthcare, received the Lloyd A. Kennedy Pathologists' Assistants Award from the Canadian Association of Pathologists.
 

Dr. George Cembrowski was presented with the Distinguished Abstract Award by the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry for his work entitled 'Magnitude of Short and Long Term Intra-patient BNP Variation in Low BNP Patients:  Implications for more Rational BNP Utilization".

 
Ms. Lisa Purdy has been chosen as the winner of the Ernest Skakun Award for Contributions to Health Education by the Faculty Education Committee, University of Alberta.
 
Dr. Xing-Fang Li, Division of Analytical and Environmental Toxicologywas elected a Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada (FCIC). She was recognized at an award ceremony in Vancouver on June 4, 2014. 
 
Dr. Hongquan Zhang, his postdoctoral fellow Dr. Bin Deng, and graduate student Junbo Chen recently published a research article on detection of picomolar concentrations of specific proteins (doi: 10.1021/ac5011316). The work is featured in Chemical & Engineering News.  More ...
 
Dr. Gwen Clarke has been selected as the recipient of the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry's Tier I Clinical Award for Excellence in Mentoring Students and Residents, an award that our Faculty holds in the highest esteem.
 
Dr. Xing-Fang Li has been selected as the recipient of the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry's Tier II Basic Science Award for Excellence in Mentoring Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows, an award that our Faculty holds in the highest esteem.
